I agree with all the positive remarks about this tv. The picture is great and the size is just right as a bedroom tv or for that matter a kitchen/dining area tv. The sound is at best BLAH!!!!!!!!! It is tinny and shallow and no adjustments make it better. What I did was I bought the Logitech usb laptop Z305 speaker and the sound is beautiful! It is full bodied, clear and plenty loud. The speaker is powered by the usb port of the tv. The only thing is that when the tv is powered on you have to power on the speaker by pressing the power button on the speaker. It's not the most desirable setup but it works and the speaker makes the tv all the more excellent.
Purchased for home office, used 8-10 hours per day with stock channels running. Used HDMI. The tinty sound and other complaints were corrected easily by going into menu and changing settings.(Sharp should know better and set different defaults). I think the sound is great, certainly has the volume. Set up took 10 minutes. Did play with all the settings. Typical poor commander, with channel buttons not always responding. Great Sharp picture as expected, with black particularly good. Hooked to cable. Have a Sharp 52, so this met expectations. Who knows with electrical products? May catch on fire tomorrow. It was shipped in it's box, and arrived almost scarless. Flawless transaction. If you don't have HDMI cable, there like cheap now. Only negative is inability to tilt. Supposedly best time to buy is just after the Super Bowl, who knows?
